SUMMARY:Indigenous Data Sovereignty: Learning from the experiences and perspectives of the research community  
DESCRIPTION:Join Dr. Robert Henry\, Dr. Cassandra Opikokew Wajuntah\, and 
 Dr. Karla Williamson to learn about their experiences and perspectives 
 fostering Indigenous Data Sovereignty in their work. This session will 
 highlight nuances within and among First Nations\, Métis\, and Inuit 
 approaches to data in research\, and will include short presentations 
 followed by a discussion and Q&A.  \n\n  \n\nSpeakers:  \n\nDr. Robert 
 Henry\n\nDr. Henry is an associate professor in the Department of 
 Indigenous Studies at the University of Saskatchewan (USask) and holds a 
 Canada Research Chair (CRC) in Indigenous Justice and Wellbeing. He is the 
 nominated principal investigator on the Saskatchewan Network Environments 
 for Indigenous Health Research (NEIHR)\, funded by CIHR\, and the NEIHR 
 National Coordinating Centre that supports 10 NEIHR networks. He completed 
 his degrees at USask.\n\n \n\nDr. Cassandra Opikokew Wajuntah\n\nDr. 
 Opikokew Wajuntah is a member of Canoe Lake First Nation and grew up in 
 Meadow Lake\, SK. She is an Associate Professor in the Department of 
 Community Health and Epidemiology in the College of Medicine at USask\, and 
 recently joined the Saskatchewan Network Environments for Indigenous Health 
 Research as a principal investigator. Previously\, Dr. Opikokew Wajuntah 
 was the Director of the Indigenous Peoples' Health Research Centre (IPHRC) 
 at the First Nations University of Canada and Co-Chair of the Research 
 Ethics Board at the University of Regina.
