The NEW Tri-Agency Open Access Policy: What does Rights Retention mean? Online
The newly revised Tri-Agency OA policy is expected to require authors to "retain rights over the dissemination of any peer-reviewed research article arising from agency-funded research” in order to make the article immediately open access upon publication (see draft updated policy: https://science.gc.ca/site/science/en/interagency-research-funding/policies-and-guidelines/open-access/draft-revised-tri-agency-open-access-policy-publications ). In this session, the university Copyright Coordinator will share important information about rights retention, practical strategies for retaining copyright ownership of your publications, and tips for negotiating effectively with publishers.
