Affordable open access publishing: Reduce (or avoid!) the author fees Online

Part of the Health Sciences Workshop Series. Open access is quickly becoming the dominant form of journal article publishing. Many profit-driven publishers are transitioning their business models from charging high subscription fees to libraries to charging high article processing charges to authors. But did you know there are ways that authors can reduce or avoid these fees entirely? This session will provide an overview of the different routes to making your journal articles open access and the various strategies you can employ to find the right journal or repository for your work without breaking the bank! This session is part of a health sciences workshop series on managing and sharing your research. The primary audience is grad students, research staff, and faculty in the health sciences, but all are welcome to attend.
