Predatory Publishers: Strategies to Identify & Avoid Them Online

Predatory publishers use deceptive practices and lure authors to publish with them. They exploit the open access author-pays model for their own profit. We discuss this phenomenon and provide you with practical tools and strategies to identify these publishers – and avoid them! This session is intended for those who are already familiar with the open access publishing model. If you need to brush up on this information, it is recommended that you attend the Intro to Open Access: Equity & Sustainability in Scholarly Publishing on Oct 21, 2024 or watch the previous workshop recording.
